Hilarious post! 😉
Girl, it’s a bit out of your time frame but you owe yourself a copy of Helen Gurley Brown’s The Single Girl’s Cookbook. It is hilarious, and has wonderful illustrations. The recipes are…interesting. My copy was given as a gift to my mom for Valentine’s Day from my dad. They divorced. The closest my mom ever got to a cookbook was a takeout menu. hahahahahaaa. I still laugh that he though that was a good idea.
I think one of my neighbors had that ice cream maker when we were kids. If it’s what I think it is, it’s an ice shaver, and you were supposed to put ice cubes in and put flavored syrup on what came out. Our moms only gave us ice, though, but we were still happy to mess around with it.
Juti, You may be remembering the Frosty Sno-Man Sno-Cone Machine. I had completely forgotten about it until you triggered the memory. We had the 1960s version, but here is a picture of a slightly later one from 1974, which is basically the same:

I used to have that Esquire cookbook. It had awesome illustrations, one of a pig slicing ham off it’s own haunches in an adorable way… Also a rabbit with a machine gun. I remember nothing about the recipes.
