Happy Friday! Today’s drink is a summer cooler even though we are in the middle of winter because…well, we are sick of winter.
- 1 1/2 oz cherry cordial
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- 3 cubes of ice
- Put all in a glass and fill with 8 oz 7up. Give one or two quick stirs and garnish with an orange and a cherry. Serve with a stirrer.
I thought this was an interesting drink, because this is very similar to my recipe for quick lemonade! Except I leave out the cherry cordial, or I sometimes substitute some grenadine.
“This is pretty good. It doesn’t even taste like an alcoholic drink.”
The Verdict: Light And Refreshing
From The Tasting Notes –
Very light, fruity and refreshing. Very strong lemon scent, but lemon flavoring isn’t overwhelming. It actually works well to counteract the sweetness of the drink. Very subtle cherry flavor and no alcohol flavor at all. A very light drink that would be great for summer!
As Buddhists we can’t drink alcohol but that doesn’t stop me from dreaming about it like a vegetarian craves bacon. I so enjoy your Friday post where for a few minutes I can live vicariously thru you and your super hilarious husband:-)
First of all, I covet both your World’s Fair tumbler, and that absolutely awesome lamp!! My husband and I were ready for a taste of summer the other day, so I made some vodka tonics with lemon. So light and refreshing! I really want to try this recipe, I love cherry.
Mmmmmmm…..I’m looking at the recipe for the Brandy Julep above. Nummy num num! My Granddaddy LOVED his peach brandy 😉 And btw that lamp is STUNNING. *Coveting*
