Notes
Did you notice how I blurred the gin bottle in the background so you can’t see how much is left? Yeah, it’s been a tough quarantine.
But at least we have cocktails.
“Holy wow.”
“What, is it terrible?”
“This tastes like liquid fruitcake. Like good liquid fruitcake. And I’m going to drink all of this right now.”
The Verdict: Liquid Fruitcake
From The Tasting Notes –
This was sweet but really, really good. It tasted like a fruitcake or a spicy Christmas cookie. But good fruitcake. I usually make the Wesson Oil version or the recipe from Alton Brown with dried fruit instead of candied then douse it in brandy, and that is what it tasted like. The orange juice flavor blended nicely with the apricot brandy and gave a very good fruity flavor. The pinch of cloves was just enough to give it some spice. Drink up!
I love gin but I think the cloves would kill this for me, heh.
(By the way, this is my second time leaving a comment – first one vanished for some reason.)
I’m one of those weirdos who absolutely loves fruitcake, even the stuff made with glaceed fruit. I think this cocktail might be a little too dangerous for me. Last night’s earthquake has already made me a little wobbly. 😉
