Who is ready for a cocktail?
This week we are making El Presidente from The Host’s Handbook, which was published in 1940 by the National Distillers Product Corporation.
El Presidente
Author:
Ingredients
- 1/2 Don Q Rum (White Label)
- 1/2 French Vermouth
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Dash of Curacao
- Dash of Grenadine
Instructions
- Combine Rum and Vermouth, and juice of one lemon, dash of Curacao and dash of Grenadine. Shake well with ice and serve with a cherry.
“How is it?”
“Fruity.”
The Verdict: A Really Nice Drink
From The Tasting Notes –
Good Vermouth flavor. A bit too much lemon, next time would probably just use a dash. Fruity, but not sickeningly sweet. A really nice, but strong, drink.
Go Badgers!!!!!!
I made myself one. Had to substitute triple sec for the Curacao. I like it. It looks more punchy than your photo, which i think is because i used just a dash of lemon juice.
