 2 cups sifted cake flour
 1 tsp baking soda (level tsp)
 2 tbsp cocoa (rounded tbsp)
 1 tsp cinnamon (rounded tsp)
 ½ tsp cloves
 ½ tsp all-spice
 ½ tsp nutmeg
 ½ cup shortening
 1 ½ cups sugar
 2 eggs
 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk

Sift together cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa, cinnamon, cloves, all spice, and nutmeg.

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time.

Add dry ingredients and milk alternatively.

Bake in oven at 350-375° F for 25-30 minutes.
