Happy Independence Day! Since most of you are outside either attending a barbeque or grilling your own dinner, we thought we would share what we are drinking (besides watermelon mojitos) while we cook.
This is Pineapple Julep!
This recipe came from a Dole pamphlet from the 1920’s, and suggests serving these over shaved ice as an after dinner drink. But we thought this would be a good chance for everyone who has been wanting vintage mocktails to get in on the action. To make this non-alcoholic, omit crème de menthe and take your lemon and some fresh mint and muddle in your glass like a mint julep (or mojito), then add pineapple juice, ice and/or soda to taste. Yum!

From The Tasting Notes –
This is a quick little drink and fun when it is warm out. A refreshing, interesting taste. This is barely alcoholic, so feel free to edit and mix as you would like if you are interested in making a vintage mocktail!
